Impact of Kentucky Abortion Laws
In response to what one Republican called “a desperate need for clarity” in Kentucky abortion law, the General Assembly approved “abortion clarification language” in March. Our meeting will focus on Kentucky abortion laws and the impact they have had on physicians and pregnant women. Our presenters are Karen Roper and Margaret Young Levi. Margaret, an attorney with Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, specializes in legal health issues and will discuss the difficulties practicing physicians face when trying to provide health care to their pregnant patients under these laws. Karen, a UK assistant professor in behavioral psychology, will share her perspective on the impact these laws have had on women. As always, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and make observations.
