DESCRIPTION:Justice for Vulnerable Women and Children \nAmong the cases the Fayette County Attorney handles are domestic violence and child abuse cases. What happens when a victim appears in court? What resources are available to safeguard the rights of vulnerable women and children? We’ll learn more about how the County Attorney’s Office advances justice and supports families when Angela C. Evans\, Fayette County Attorney\, joins us at our October 20 meeting. As legal representative for the Fayette County Elections Board\, Evans will also discuss efforts in place to ensure safe and secure elections. \nWith more than two decades of service as a lawyer and public official\, Angela C. Evans made history in 2022 when she was sworn in as the first African American county attorney in Kentucky. She previously served as the 6th District Council member on the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government Council for three elected terms. Evans is running unopposed for another term as Fayette County Attorney. \nMeet the Candidates: At least two candidates will also speak briefly: Jessica McIntosh\, KY Senate 34\, which includes a section of Fayette County\, and Tate Ohmer\, at-large candidate for City Council.
