Data Centers

The Lexington Herald revealed details today about the purchase and potential development of the former Lexmark data center campus. It also reported that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on July 30 on a draft zoning ordinance text amendment initiated by the urban county council. Our July meeting will focus on data centers and give you the background information you need to give your feedback to the council. Ashley Wilmes, executive director, Kentucky Resources Council, will lay the groundwork with a discussion about the issues around data centers. Rep. Adam Moore and Councilperson Emma Curtis will follow up with updates on legislation and council initiatives. Come with your questions!

This is also a chance to talk with Adam and Emma about their campaigns. Both will be on the ballot in November.

Donate School Supplies: The Fayette Dems are getting ready to launch their annual School Supply Drive and has asked for our help. Please consider bringing with you to the July 21 meeting an item or two on this list: composition notebooks, pre-sharpened pencils, colored pencils, crayons, student backpacks, dry erase markers, tissues, or Clorox wipes.
