KWN NKY Volunteerpalooza 2026
General Information:
June 20, 2026
Erlanger Branch Library
401 Kenton Lands Road, Erlanger, KY
KWN, NKY is not here to run your campaign. We are here to support campaigns and communities by connecting candidates, experienced volunteers, and new volunteers with the training and tools they need to win, from school board to U.S. Senate, in 2026 and every year after.
Our goal is to:
- Help citizens understand the process and every office on the ballot.
- Build organized, effective campaign teams.
- Improve the lives of our communities by winning races up and down the ballot.
Who we need
- Trainers/mentors: People experienced in any of the areas below who are willing to teach, mentor, and try new approaches.
- Volunteers/learners: People ready to be trained, follow campaign direction, and help candidates win.
Areas where we need trainers and volunteers
- Precinct team organizing
- Research on opponents’ records and issues
- Fundraising events
- Social media
- Public speaking support
- Stump speech and elevator pitch support
- Outreach to organizations for endorsements
- Ordering union‑made campaign materials
- Campaign finance (KREF)
- Graphic design
- VoteBuilder and MiniVAN
- Texting
- Door knocking (always in teams)
- Phone calls and voter issue ID
- Yard sign delivery and post‑campaign removal
- Working closely with campaign managers and candidates
We especially welcome experienced people who are ready to do things differently. This is a new time, and we need new habits and structures so that we are not just busy—but effective and winning races at every level year after year. Trainers/mentors will work with KWN to develop tools, schedule sessions, and stay in regular contact with teams.
If you have experience in any of these areas, political or not, please contact us as soon as possible so we can plan your training sessions. We will help secure venues and offer multiple times to reach as many civic‑minded Kentuckians as possible.
If you are new to this work, welcome. We are grateful you are stepping up to help change Kentucky’s trajectory. If you see a need or role we have not listed, let us know—there are many pieces to winning elections, and we want your ideas.
